The LIBRE Initiative, a conservative Latino group, slams Republican immigration rhetoric via "an open letter to all Americans," emphasizing that they do not agree with the proposals Donald Trump's campaign.

In a letter posted in NPR, the group described their fellow conservative's campaign to be something that is "not in line with our principles and are not in the best interest of the country."

According to the outlet, the group funded by the Koch brothers aims to sound off their opposition against the proposals they deem to be something that will not help improve the country's state.

"We will raise our voice against unrealistic and what I feel are ineffective policies," Daniel Garza, the executive director for Libre Initiative, told NPR.

According to the group, enforcement efforts of the law "should be reasonable" and "should not unduly intrude with the lives of law-abiding Americans."

They also consider such proposals as a way of imposing "unwarranted costs on taxpayers," concluding that because of these considerations, the proposals have failed to pass such "prudent tests."

The proposals that the letter questions include calls to end birthright citizenship and mass deportation even for citizens who have continued to contribute to the country while obeying U.S. laws.

News Week considers these ventures difficult both legally and politically, particularly the birthright citizenship grants considering that the 14th Amendment has been widely interpreted to allow such rights to be given to children of immigrants born in the country.

Meanwhile, though the group did not mention any specific name of candidate NPR notes that the letter is in response to GOP frontrunner Trump's campaign considering that both proposals came from him.

After he put these ideas forward, several other GOP candidates like Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal have echoed his call.

These statements on immigration rights abolishment from the Republic politicians inadvertently alienated their fellow-GOP members who happens to hail from non-U.S. territories, with the biggest group "LIBRE Initiative" already sounding off criticism in the defense of legal immigrants.

"If you're somebody who's proposing bad policies, we're going to call you out. Period, without regard to political consequences, what the political winds are. We are going to stand on sound ideas and sound policy," Garza pointed out to NPR, adding that they will be watching out for the Latino community no matter what.

With that in mind, News Week believes that even conservative Latinos may be pushed towards the Democratic side if the party pushes this idea through.
