Speculations and rumors Apple's new devices are now beginning to subside in the wake of the company's September 9 event where the much-awaited iPad Pro was unveiled, among others.
The wait is finally over for iPad fans as the Cupertino-based company has officially revealed the first official look at what CEO Tim Cook dubbed as the "biggest news in iPad since the iPad."
Like what was said in rumors cited by 9 to 5 Mac and other tech news outlets, Apple has finally released a Macbook-sized tablet: the iPad Pro.
This device is designed with a 12.9-inch display with 2732 x 2048 resolution matched with display density of 264 ppi.
As promised, it also sports the split-screen feature of the iOS 9, further enhanced to allow an unconstrained multitasking experience made possible by the latest A9X processor.
According to The Verge, the company also claims that this new processor is pegged to be 1.8 times faster and more efficient than its predecessor.
"Our chip team is just on fire. It is faster than 80 percent of the portable PCs that shipped in the last 12 months. In graphics tasks, it's faster than 90 percent of them," Apple's Phil Schiller declared.
He also described the new Apple tablet to be able to "do things that a smartphone doesn't do" simply because it does not need to sit idle in its owner's pockets.
According to the report, the company made use of the Retina 5K display, the same technology used in their iMac, to make the iPad Pro screen crystal clear.
"For the first time in an Apple display, it has a variable refresh rate," Schiller explained.
And because of its new high-end processor, Schiller explained, the new iPad Pro is set to be the perfect device for games as well as productivity apps.
All these had already been revealed in information leaks prior to the release date except two things: the inclusion of an Apple Pencil and a Smart Keyboard.
The Apple Pencil, as you may have already guessed, acts as a stylus for the iPad Pro which increases the amount of surface scanning to improve accuracy when using hardware.
The company also claims that the new Apple Pencil would lead users the experience close to when they use the actual writing or drawing instrument.
"The Apple Pencil has sensitivity sensors so you can press lightly for brief strokes or harder for wider strokes," The Verge described.
Meanwhile, Schiller described the Smart Keyboard as "unlike any keyboard you've ever used before."
However, The Verge noted that the Apple executive seem to have forgotten about Microsoft's Surface keyboard which has the similar fabric outer cover and a Smart Connector in the form of three circles on the side of the device.
