Just a few months after Caitlyn Jenner made her iconic debut on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine, several costume retailers released a Caitlyn Jenner inspired costume that had many critics talking. Many social media users called the costume, which was inspired by Caitlyn's photo shoot to be 'in bad taste.'

The Caitlyn Jenner Unisex costume features the white ensemble Caitlyn Jenner wore on the cover of the Vanity Fair magazine. Accessories include a "Call Me Caitlyn" sash and a wig. While many of Caitlyn Jenner's supporters were outraged by this, Caitlyn herself seemed unfazed by it.

In an exclusive interview with Today, the reality star of 'I Am Cait' opened up to host Matt Lauer about a lot of things, including the very controversial Halloween costume. Jenner seemed to take everything in stride and even joked about the Halloween costume.

"I'm in on the joke. I don't think it's offensive at all," said the 65-year-old former Olympian.

The reality star admitted that while the LGBTQ found the costume to be offensive, she admitted to having no hard feelings about it at all. While many of her supporters were disgusted by the costume, Jenner didn't find any offense in it. She has even gone so far as to praise the costume.

"I know the community does and they've gotten a lot of criticism for doing it. I think it's great," she said.

Jenner even made a little joke about the costume, showing that there were absolutely no ill feelings on her part.

"To be honest with you, I think it's great. They could have a better-looking outfit for him, you know?" she added.

In a report with The Mirror, fans of the reality star were outraged when several costume retailers sold the costume. According to the report, many of the fans said it "mocked Jenner's transition."

However, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the Caitlyn Jenner Halloween, defended the costume said that it didn't mock Jenner at all. They said that they "celebrated Jenner's transition".

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes. We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that." said Lisa Barr, who is the marketing senior director of the company.

Many activists of the transgender community have said their concerns on the costume and have even set up a petition on Change.org, asking that the costume be removed from stores everywhere.

"Do not turn Caitlyn Jenner into a costume," said Addison Vincent who is the creator of the online petition. "Your profit will only lead to greater transphobia and marginalization of an already at-risk community."

The Halloween costume retails for $74.99. There is also an Olympic costume option featuring a red top and blue shorts.
