Labor Day weekend is a huge holiday majorly celebrated by Americans during the first Monday of September. Even celebrities didn't miss out on the holiday, which honors the hardworking men and women in the U.S. and their contributions to the nation.
Here's how Latino stars celebrated Labor Day weekend.
"Infinity" singer Mariah Carey spent the day with her twins Monroe and Moroccan at the Bronx Zoo and shared snapshots of the trip on her Instagram page, "Jane the Virgin" lead star Gina Rodriguez paid a visit to Disneyland with a couple of pals, Colombian recording artist Juanes celebrated his daughter's birthday, and Eva Longoria posted a photo of herself vacationing somewhere with a scenic view.
Colombian actress and model Ximena Duque celebrated Puerto Rican actor Carlos Ponce's birthday. Bachata singer Leslie Grace was in Spain all by her lonesome, captioning a black-and-white photo with: "Good company is always welcomed but I've learned to never underestimate the beauty in being able to keep your own company."
Ricky Martin, on the other hand, spent Labor Day weekend in his One World Tour concert series.
"Cool for the Summer" singer Demi Lovato chose to spend a low-key weekend at home with her puppy, Gabriel Coronel shared a snapshot of himself while filming "El Señor De Los Cielos," and Victoria's Secret supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio basked in the Malibu heat while eating snow cones. The Honest Company co-owner Jessica Alba celebrated the holiday poolside with her kids.
"The Duff" star Bella Thorne and her boyfriend, "Faking It" actor Gregg Sulkin, hung out at Disneyland during the holiday. The couple donned Mickey and Minnie Mouse hats and even wore matching shirts.
Labor Day Weekend Box Office Results
Movies didn't rake plenty of earnings over the weekend. "War Room," the small-budgeted and faith-based film by the brothers Alex and Stephen Kendrick, earned $12.5 million and took out F. Gary Gray's biopic "Straight Outta Compton" off the top spot, MarketWatch reported.
"War Room" was made on a meager $3.5 million budget, MarketWatch wrote. The weekend draw estimates the film's domestic gross at $27.8 million. However, the movie's success isn't enough to save the weekend's sales, with earnings reportedly falling nearly 17% compared to the Labor Day weekend last year.
"Straight Outta Compton" earned $11 million over the weekend, while the comedy-adventure "A Walk in the Woods" placed at the third spot with $10.5 million, the news outlet noted. "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" is at its sixth week with $9.3 million and a domestic gross of $182.5 million, while the Jason Statham-starrer "The Transporter Refueled" raked $9 million in the weekend.
