Apple is prepping its products due for release on September 9 as more leaks on the new iPad Mini 4 are coming out.

According to BGR, the upcoming successor of the iPad Mini line is set to have substantial enhancements compared to its predecessors including a thinner body.

Citing leaks of a case made only for the iPad Mini 4, the outlet revealed that the Cupertino-based company's new tablet may come as thin as 6.13mm.

With the same screen size of 7.9-inch as the iPad Mini 3, one can only hope that the smaller tablet from Apple has received some significant improvements in terms of its internals considering that its predecessor did not perform very well during its 2014 release because of very minimal upgrades.

NDTV Gadgets revealed that while the iPad Pro is set to be unveiled during the company's big event on September 9, the new iPad Mini may see the light of day a month later if past reports the outlet cited is accurate.

This reports were also cited by Alphr.com, noting that the iPad Mini 4 would most probably follow the traditional release dates of its predecessors: 2012's iPad Mini which was announced on October 23 and released on November 2; 2013's iPad Mini 2 unveiled on October 23 and made available in the market on November 12; and last year's iPad Mini 3 which was revealed on October 16 and was sold to Apple customers eight days later.

The outlet also cited that if the latest addition to the iPad Mini family is not out before October ends, it would most probably be released early this November.

Design

As mentioned earlier, the new iPad Mini would be significantly thinner than its predecessors.

In fact, KGI Securities' industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo told Apple Insider that the new iPad Mini would be "essentially a mini version of the iPad Air."

Specs

Because it is considered a smaller version of the iPad Air 2, the iPad Mini 4 is said to have an upgraded processor under the hood.

According to Alphr.com, this means that the smaller tablet would be run by an A8X processor matched with 2GB worth of RAM.

Other rumors, however, revealed that the new iPad Mini would be plugged in with the iPhone 6S' A9 processor.

Memory capacity options for this device are also rumored to start at the higher 32GB internal storage similar to the iPhone 6S.
