Despite losing to undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao is still bent on taking on several more fights before he retires.

In an AFP report published by Yahoo Sports, Pacquiao said that he still plans to fight a few more times prior to retiring tentatively next year.

This was said to be in reaction to Top Rank CEO Bob Arum's statement that he has one last fight left before he hangs his gloves and run for the Philippine Senate.

"I believe he'll take one more fight, then run for the Senate in the Philippines. He could fight twice more, I guess, but it sets up better for him to fight, then run," Arum told the Los Angeles Times.

Asked about Arum's statement, Pacquiao said he knows more what is happening in his body.

"I know better what is happening to my body. Just leave it alone. Better not to react to that," he said in the Yahoo Sports report.

He also reportedly denied to comment on whether he will really pursue a Senate seat for the 2016 polls in the Philippines.

It was added in the Los Angeles Times report that Arum has already met with the representatives of British boxer and light-welterweight world champion Amir Khan for a possible fight versus Pacquiao.

As for the possibility of fighting Mayweather in a rematch, Arum said they would have to take a lot of things in consideration to make that a possibility.

"From what I've heard, Mayweather is retiring. I guess they could fight again, but many things would have to happen," Arum told Los Angeles Times.

The May fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather, dubbed as the "Fight of the Century" reportedly earned 4.4 million pay-per-view buys, a first in the history of boxing.

Pacquiao, however, lost to Mayweather after a 12-round battle but attributed his poor performance to a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder which was later confirmed by medical experts. He had to undergo surgery for that after the fight.

The American boxer has since then criticized Pacquiao for making excuses after his loss, so did his father, Mayweather Sr. "The Money Team" has also scheduled a fight with Andre Berto this Sept. 12 in Las Vegas, which he claimed will be the last in his career as a boxer.

"I think Berto will probably give a better fight than Pacquiao because didn't do nothing at all because he wanted to make up excuses," Mayweather Sr. said in an Inquirer report quoting a FightHype.com interview.

He added that there was nothing wrong with Pacquiao's physical self when he fought Pretty Boy.

"There wasn't nothing wrong with his arm, there wasn't nothing wrong with his eyes, wasn't nothing wrong with his lips. Something was wrong with his heart. He couldn't cruise. Floyd was tearing him up. He couldn't do nothing. Pacquiao is just a liar with no skills," explained Mayweather Sr.
