Fans of the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 4 may not wait much longer for the arrival of the device, as it is rumored to come out by October.

TV Newsroom indicated that the 2-in-1 tablet is set to be released before the year ends, and is believed to come with brand-new Skylake processors.

A similar NeuroGadget report added that it would be hard to predict the product cycle of Microsoft, but noted that The Verge senior editor Tom Warren also confirmed they October date. It will also feature a 12-inch display with a 2160×1440 resolution, notes the report.

"The size and weight are very similar to the Surface Pro 3, however it seems that the Surface Pro 3 is a bit thinner," added the same report.

The Surface Pro 4 is also expected to start selling at around $800 for the 12-inch version, a price almost similar to the Surface Pro 3. Buyers would need to pay an additional $100-150 for the 14-inch variant.

TechTimes added the tablet may come with a 1 TB version aside from the 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 500GB internal storage options that the Surface Pro 3 previously had.

Meanwhile, TechRadar dished that the Surface Pro 4 may use accessories similar to its predecessor.

"We are pleased to share that the following Surface Pro 3 accessories are designed with our product roadmap in mind and will be compatible with the next generation of the 'Pro' line of Surface," said Microsoft's Surface line Brian Hall in the TechRadar report.

Also, Alphr noted that the Surface Pro 3 was highly-acclaimed, tagging it as a perfect replacement for a laptop. Hence, fans are hoping that the Pro 4 will be the hybrid that can perfectly replace both laptops and tablets.

The upcoming tablet is also believed to come with a new stylus after Microsoft acquired N-Trig, an Israel company known for the Surface tablets' "pressure-sensitive stylus technology."

As for the camera of the Surface Pro 4, TechNewsToday suggested that new technologies could be incorporated in the camera.

"An iris scanner utilizing infrared functionality baked into the front camera, the process of unlocking just by looking at the Surface Pro 4 could be sped up drastically. If that actually happens or Microsoft makes a RealSense 3D camera a possibility on the Surface Pro 4 then it could help with Windows Hello and improve Skype video calling in the process maybe," noted the same report.

Microsoft users and Surface Pro fans are certainly awaiting the release of this newest device, which promises nothing but great features in terms of tablet use.
