Plot twists are expected to come as new characters are introduced in the upcoming sixth season of the widely-watched HBO historical drama "Game of Thrones."

After reports of a new major villain have surfaced, many some may be thinking twice about how it would affect the series' storyline specifically in the house of the Greyjoys.

Recent reports from Vanity Fair, fansite Watchers on the Wall and other entertainment outlets revealed how Pilou Asbæk was casted as Euron Greyjoy, King Balon Greyjoy's brother and uncle to Theon and Asha.

The Vanity Fair report also cited the Season 6 casting call description for the character as "cunning, ruthless, with a touch of madness" and a "pirate who terrorized the world" making our recent report dubbing him a major villain ring of truth.

But how exactly would this new character affect the show's plotline? Forbes' Paul Tassi has some theories.

Tassi noted that while there had been signs that the show's makers would be abandoning the plotline involving the Iron Islands and its Kingsmoot, recent updates revealed that this would be incorporated in the highly anticipated season 6.

"In the books, Euron is one of three brothers who returns to the Iron Island when Balon Greyjoy falls to his death from a bridge during a storm," Tassi explained, adding that many fans of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series consider this plotline as the least interesting of all.

But after HBO added "Deadwood" actor Ian McShane to the mix, everything has changed.

Apparently, McShane is pegged to play a major role in the sixth season which, says Tassi, would be a choice between Victarion Greyjoy or Sam Tarly's brutal father, Randyll.

Meanwhile, the Forbes contributor noted how Danish actor Asbæk would fit as Euron considering that he is a bit too young for the role.

"Asbæk is 33 years old but looks even younger. It seems more than a little strange that he would be playing younger brother to Balon Greyjoy, played by 70 year old actor Patrick Malahide," Tassi pondered, adding that there may be a possibility that HBO would be changing Euron's family relation to the Greyjoys as a cousin or maybe a brother for Theon.

He also speculated that the makers of the show may do the same thing they did to the Dorne plotline where Jaime and Bronn were included contrary to what was in the book.

In the end, Tassi thinks that scrapping the Kingsmoot plotline altogether would not hurt the show and might even make it even more interesting even for none GoT fans.
