A live performance from Daft Punk? Impossible. It can’t be true. We’ve been begging and pleading for a tour following their release of “Random Access Memories,” but they’ve remained silent on the matter, uneager to hop on the global circuit anytime soon. But there’s a glimmer of hope. It may not be the full tour we’ve been waiting for, but it’s a promising step in the right direction, and at this point, we’ll take anything.

So here it is. The big news. Daft Punk will be performing live at this year’s Grammy Awards on Jan. 26. It’s going to be phenomenal. That’s about it. They’re also up for five Grammys, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year.

Hopefully the performance will act as a catalyst for their “Random Access Memories” tour that’s seven months overdue, but you never know with robots. It will be “a collaborative and celebratory stage performance that honors their multi-nominated music,” Grammys Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich told Rolling Stone.

Kendrick Lamar, who is up for seven Grammys of his own, has also announced that he will perform at this year’s ceremony. The bill grows sweeter every day.

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards will take on Sunday, Jan. 26.
