A changed user interface for the upcoming Apple TV 4 is now expected after recent concept images of the device surfaced online.
The images, which appeared online, were made by Andrew Ambrosino and showed the home screen sporting the date, time and configurable background of the television.
"Swipe up for glances, inspired by watchOS. Swipe left and right through multiple glances. Press to enter the full app," added the instructions on the images by Ambrosino.
The site also added that users can simply enter the apps screen with a press of a button.
"We're presented with a screen of apps very similar to iOS. You'll notice (as rumored) an App Store, games, and plenty of third-party apps, all organized on multiple screens," added Ambrosino.
According to 9to5Mac, these concept images took into consideration the expected features for the new Apple TV which is believed to include "a new UI to accommodate new functionality and navigation."
An earlier 9to5Mac report indicated that the Apple TV 4 will be available in the market in October and that it will have a price tag of less than $200.
"Apple executives are apparently still finalizing the price of the revamped living room device, but the latest options call for a starting price point of either $149 or $199," added the same report.
This price is reportedly higher than the third-generation Apple TV which was pegged at around $99 when it was launched in 2012 then reduced to $69 later on.
Fans and users can also expect that the new Apple device will be similar with the current model but "will be thicker and slightly wider."
It was also dished by 9to5Mac that the upcoming gadget will have new features included in its package like Siri support, an App Store with a Software Development Kit and a new remote control application.
Independent, in a similar report, mentioned that with the addition of the app store and the new remote, Apple TV seems to be set in taking on gaming consoles such as Xbox and PlayStation.
"The new controllers will have both real buttons and a touchpad. It will also have motion sensors for uses such as driving games. It will also have an integrated microphone that will allow the box to be controlled by Siri. Apple has hinted at a prominent placing for Siri at the event in its invitations," added Independent.
Aside from this, users can also connect their controllers with the device's built-in Bluetooth feature.
The launch of this fourth-generation Apple TV is expected to happen alongside with the announcement of the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus.
