With the release of the new trailer for "Halo 5: Guardians" on Tuesday, it was missing one important component -- the game franchise's hero, Master Chief.

According to Wired, the new video showcased the opening cinematic of the upcoming game.

"It's an interesting trailer, managing to showcase everything the Halo franchise has become after nearly 15 years: bombastic, busy and a little confusing," added the same report.

With the absence of Master Chief, Wired said the 3-minute video shows the character who will be replacing the main character -- Spartan Locke who will be the leader of Fireteam Osiris. He will be joined by a squad or armored warriors.

"Their mission is to save and/or kidnap a defecting human scientist (who, by the way, invented the Spartan supersoldier program of which series hero Master Chief is the star student) from an alien fanatic," noted Wired.

In addition, TechTimes said action scenes on the video reveal that the upcoming game will have an exciting gameplay compared to previous installments.

"The trailer shows Fireteam Osiris destroying everything on their way, while also highlighting how each member of the team has their own distinctive role and contribution to the mission," the same report added.

Meanwhile, Microsoft announced that the trailer is also "the start to the most ambitious, robust and epic Halo campaign experience yet."

PC Mag, on the other hand, noted that the trailer, which was directed by 343 Industries and created along with AXIS Animation, Profile Studios, and Warner Bros., only provided a sneak peak into what the game will really offer its players.

The frustration was shared by Engadget who told fans that they will not be able to see more of Spartan 117.

"There's a new trailer, but it isn't gameplay. Nor does it tell us much about what's going on with the game's story," furthered Engadget.

It was also noted that there was even more disappointment for fans wanting to see a footage of Master Chief on the battlefield.

Set to have its commercial debut on Oct 27, the "Halo 5: Guardians" will launch exclusively on the Xbox One console.

Fans can also expect that the upcoming game will "boast more than 20 multiplayer maps at launch and developer 343 Industries promised to add 15 other maps after the game's launch."

By June next year, TechTimes said that free downloadable content packs will also be offered to those with Xbox Live Gold subscription.

But the same report clarified that the game will not have a split-screen mode which will also be a bad news for some gamers.
