"The Flash" will be back for its second season in just over a month and news after news after news are coming.

While there is no need to see the physical person who will be playing Zoom on the show just yet, there is something that we already know about the character: it will be voiced by Tony Todd, as reported by Variety.

In an interview with the magazine, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said, "Last year, with the Reverse Flash, we just modulated Tom Cavanagh's voice and this year we wanted to do something a little bit different."

He went on, "Part of the mystery of the season is who or what is underneath the Zoom outfit, and so we wanted to do something like James Earl Jones as Darth Vader - this iconic voice coming out of this mask. Last year, we thought of the Reverse-Flash as a speed warrior; this year, Zoom is like a speed demon, and no one does demon-voice better than Tony Todd."

But why is a physical actor less important than the voice actor at this rate? According to Zap2It, viewers won't actually see who (or what) is behind the costume just yet. Kreisberg explained the villain's look, "The Zoom outfit is much more organic than the Reverse Flash suit. In a way, it's hard to tell if it is a suit or alive ... There's no skin showing, for all you know there's a robot underneath or dark energy."

With everything that we saw on "The Flash" on its first season alone, that's not an unlikely possibility, either.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zoom is not Todd's first DC role. He previously voiced DC villain Darkseid in the "Lego DC Comics Superheroes" video games, and also did the voice work for Icon on "Young Justice" and Aseroth on "Batman: The Brave and the Bold". Finally, he also played Earl Jenkins in the first season of the long-running DC series, "Smallville".

As for the rest of "The Flash" cast, Grant Gustin will reprise his role as the fastest man alive, but will be joined by an array of new characters including Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick AKA the Original Flash, Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West, Falk Hentschel as Hawkman, and Casper Crump as Vandal Savage. Henstschel and Crump will first appear on crossover episodes of "Arrow" and "The Flash" before going on to star in the 2016 spinoff series, "DC's Legends of Tomorrow."

"The Flash" will return for its second season on October 6 on The CW.
