Unlike her "The Vampire Diaries" character Caroline Forbes, Candice Accola has some very real human blood flowing through her veins, and a very real child that she can carry in her belly.
Yes, the actress is with child, and she announced the big news via Instagram on Sunday, together with her new husband, The Fray member Joe King.
The photo, which showed a photo of her in a white top and a doodle on the baby bump was captioned, "Sometimes a Saturday is best spent painting t-shirts and taking an awesome family photo. Happy Monday everybody! #ThatAintNoBurritoinMyBelly."
King and his two daughters (from his first marriage) Ava and Elise, who were in the photo with her, looked absolutely delighted by the news.
Like Accola, King also posted the news on his own Instagram page, adding, "Baby King on the way!!!! So proud to welcome this new life into the world with my beautiful wife and daughters. I truly am a lucky man & dad."
The Los Angeles Times reported that Accola's rep declined to say how far along the actress is in her pregnancy, although with the size of the bump, it looks like it's been more than just a couple of weeks.
The CW Actress met King through former TVD co-star Nina Dobrev, who introduced them in 2012. They got engaged in Italy in May 2013, and wed in New Orleans last October, in a themed wedding that could pass for a set on TVD's spinoff series, "The Originals".
There is also no telling what will happen to Accola's Caroline in TVD, with her being pregnant, and Caroline in for a lot of action with a new villain in Mystic Falls. In an interview with executive producer Julie Plec, it seems that Caroline will not fare well against a new batch of villains -- Heretics this time.
In a report from The Hollywood Reporter, the Mystic Falls gang will be fighting three lady villains named Valerie, Nora, and Mary Louise (played by Elizabeth Blackmore, Scarlett Byrne and Teresa Liane).
Then there are also the male Heretics, who MTV said are named Beau, Malcolm, and Oscar, played by Jaiden Kane, Justice Leak and Tim Kang.
Plec said about the newcomers "Mary-Louise and Nora are such mean girls. They are hilarious. They out mean-girl Caroline and they take lots of pleasure in torturing her."
A Nina-less new season of "The Vampire Diaries" will return on October 8 on The CW.
