NBC's "Grimm" is taking a brief winter recess, but it promises to return with all-new episodes of fright and terror in the new year.

The upcoming episode, which is titled "Red Menace," will be interesting and intense as the long awaited reunion between Captain Renard and Adalind will finally take place, reveals DreadCentral.com. A promo video also shows Juliette kicking butt in a fight scene and Adalind delivering a baby.

Also in the episode, Hank will make a move on his physical therapist, Zuri while in the meantime, Renard will finally track down Adalind to give her a stern warning. Plus, Silas Weir Mitchell, Bree Turner, and Reggie Lee will also show up in "Red Menace.".

According to KsiteTV.com, an official synopsis reads:

"A Wesen with a unique ability is at the center of a revenge fueled investigation. Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) investigate a Wesen -'healer' whose ability holds risks that far outweigh its rewards. Meanwhile, Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) takes in a friend when domestic issues escalate and Hank makes a move on his physical therapist Zuri (guest star Sharon Leal). Elsewhere, Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) finally tracks down Adalind (Claire Coffee) and has a stern warning for her. Silas Weir Mitchell, Bree Turner and Reggie Lee also star."

Executive producer David Greenwalt also dropped a spoiler about Nick, telling TVLine that Nick will "have to go from being the student to being the teacher," in the second half of the season. "He'll be passing on some of the information he's learned - but we can't tell you to whom."

"Grimm" S3E9 is scheduled to air on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 9 p.m. EST. Watch a preview below.
