As far as villain inspirations are concerned, "Star Wars" got their idea from among the worst.
According to Cinema Blend, filmmakers have relied on Nazi Germany to show the menacing powers of the Empire.
True to form, the new version for Episode 7 still drew inspiration from the same fascist government to terrorize with the First Order on "The Force Awakens".
In an interview with Empire Magazine, director JJ Abrams revealed how they came up with the First Order.
He said"That all came out of conversations about what would have happened if the Nazis all went to Argentina but then started working together again? What could be born of that?"
He went on, "Could The First Order exist as a group that actually admired The Empire? Could the work of The Empire be seen as unfulfilled? And could Vader be a martyr? Could there be a need to see through what didn't get done?"
Not much is known about what happened after the Battle of Endor by the end of "Return of the Jedi."
Based on what we do know so far about "The Force Awakens", it seems that the First Order emerged from the ashes of factions still out there.
Like white supremacists, they have been trying to use the same roadmap from Hitler and the Nazi Party to take it further.
There is little else that we know about the seventh episode. However, with reports from the New York Post, here are a few more things to update us on "The Force Awakens":
1) Abrams said about Adam Driver's character: "Kylo Ren is not a Sith. He works under Supreme Leader Snoke [Andy Serkis], who is a powerful figure on the Dark Side of the Force."
Unfortunately, this tidbit raises more questions, for instance - do Siths and Jedis even exist anymore?
2) Someone could be raised from the dead. However, Peter Cushing, who played villain Grand Moff Tarkin died in 1994.
With the help of CGI, there is a possibility that he can be brought back to life for the 2016 "Star Wars" spinoff, "The Rogue One".
3) There is a possibility that we will get to meet the offspring of the original characters - Finn and Rey, for instance, could be the offspring of Luke or Han and Leia.
After all, Abrams told Entertainment Weekly, "I will only say about that that it is completely intentional that their last names aren't public record."
What do you think about these updates? "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" will hit theaters this December.
