A party is not a party without a DJ playing his tracks to make people groove and get wild. Zac Efron, 27, leads the movie, "We are Your Friends," that already landed in theaters today. The film received a Rated R rating because it contains explicit languages, drug use, sexual content, and nudity.

Max Joseph is the Director and the Screenwriter of this film. It was his first featured film who, according to Hollywood Life, outlined well the Los Angeles life. The story of the film can be easily foreseen as soon as the character of Efron enters the scene.

In The Hollywood Reporter movie review, the film started introducing Cole (Efron), the protagonist with his friends Mason (Jonny Weston), a trouble maker; Ollie (Shiloh Fernandez), a drug dealer; and Squirrel (Alex Shaffer), the quiet one. The group was promoting parties in college campuses.

Moreover, Cole was attracted to Sophie (Emily Ratajkowski), but he was unaware that she was the girlfriend of DJ James (Wes Bentley), who was a star-DJ in the film. According to the San José Mercury News, DJ James was the most interesting character played by Bentley because of his issues in life and his involvement in drugs.

According to the Wrap, James teaches Cole everything he needs to know on how to become a good DJ. He taught Cole that ideally a dance track should be on 128 beats-per-minute. Zac Efron's character Cole, dreams to become a known DJ with his electronic dance music (EDM). Cole was looking for a distinctive signature sound to add to his tracks when he heard Sophie playing her zipper on her sweater. He recorded unnoticed sounds to creatively add it on his mix.

In addition, the Wrap reported, that the movie story plot was predictable and only the character of James, portrayed by Bentley, registered on the film. But, according to the Hollywood Reporter's review, Zac Efron acted naturally. His acting overcame his image from the High School Musical mark and Efron portrayed the character extremely well.

Furthermore, the director Max Joseph, hosted before the MTV's Catfish, significantly added sincerity and heart to this film, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

As stated by The Wrap , "We Are Your Friends" movie tells a story of a young man who aspires to become a star DJ amidst all the hardships. It also wants the movie goers to understand the difference of a DJ who knows how to make people dance and just an ordinary one who just plays people requested songs.
