"Bones" fans need not worry as David Boreanaz has officially returned to work to shoot episodes of the TV series' new season after an apparent health scare.
Viewers have faced the scariest plot twist so far, as the script for season 11 was written with fan favorite Seeley Booth going missing.
This, according to TV Line, is because Boreanaz, the actor giving life to the character, has faced an apparent health scare.
The outlet got word that prior to his return on set, he suffered "a bad reaction to an antibiotic," leaving him unable to join Emily Deschanel, who plays the lead character Temperance Brennan, and the rest of the cast in filming for new episodes.
During his time of recovery, the staff and crew of the TV series bought him some time by incorporating a twist that leads to his disappearance, says Hollywood.com.
In fact, according to TV Line, the studio even hired "24" actress Kim Raver to play FBI special agent Grace Miller to assist the gang in investigating Booth's disappearance. According to the outlet, Raver would be appearing in the first two episodes of the show's new season that premieres on Oct. 1.
This plot twist was unexpected particularly because the season 10 finale of "Bones" ended with Booth and Brennan making a joined decision of starting out fresh outside their Jeffersonian work after Pelant, an old antagonist of the show, threatened to make a reappearance despite previously "dying."
Are you excited to see the 11th season of "Bones"?
In an interview with the outlet, the former Angel star expressed his relief at his return to the set of "Bones."
"Nothing matters to me more than Bones, so I was thrilled when the producers came up with a way for me to take a few extra weeks to recover from a personal health issue without delaying production," he told TV Line.
He also revealed that he would start taping scenes on Tuesday, August 25, so that he would still be able to appear in the "Bones" Season 11 premiere.
"I'm happy to say that I'm now feeling great and will be back to work tomorrow, and that our 11th season premiere will broadcast on schedule - with me in it," he added.
He further acknowledged the credibility of the news after he Tweeted a link to the TV Line report on his recovery and return, something his fans and followers definitely welcomed.
