This year was a big year for celebrity babies, with celebrity royalty--and actual royalty--welcoming little bundles of joy. While a few celebrity parents stuck with traditional names for their newborns, most celebrity parents thought out of the box when it came to naming their celebrity offspring.
The 13 most talked about celebrity babies of 2013 are:
13. Elijah Hubbell- Elijah was born on September 28 to "Glee" star Heather Morris and her high school sweetheart boyfriend Taylor Hubbell. It was the first child for them both, as well as the first "Glee" baby.
12. Autumn James Hallisay- Autumn, who was born on November 26, is the daughter of Jennifer Love Hewitt and Brian Hallisay. The two also got married this year in a very private ceremony.
11. Cricket Pearl Silverstein- Cricket was born on July 2 to "Cougar Town" star Busy Philipps and Marc Silverstein. She is Busy's second daughter; her eldest is named Birdie.
10. Everly Tatum- Everly, who was born on May 31 in London, is the first child of "Magic Mike" star Channing Tatum and his wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum.
9. Noah Bublé- The traditionally-named Noah Bublé was born to crooner Michael Bublé and wife Lusiana Lopilato on August 27.
8. Axl Jack Duhamel- Axl was born to Fergie and Josh Duhamel on August 29. The couple posted a photo of their newborn son with the caption: "Axl Jack Duhamel Day 1. Life is good :) #paparazziyoucanleaveourhousenow."
7. Maceo Robert Martinez- Maceo, born on October 5, is the son of Halle Berry and husband Olivier Martinez. It is her first child with Martinez, and is what she called a "miracle" pregnancy. They chose the name Maceo because it means "gift of god."
6. Carmen Gabriela Baldwin- Older father Alec Baldwin and wife Hilaria Baldwin welcomed their daughter Carmen on August 23. They told the media: "We are overjoyed to announce the birth of our daughter Carmen Gabriela. She is absolutely perfect." Her older sister, Ireland, tweeted, "Welcome to the world, Carmen! I'm a f***ing sister!" The best big sister!! Love you so much."
5. Ace Knute Johnson- Ace was born to Jessica Simpson and her fiance, Eric Johnson, on June 30. Before giving birth, Simpson said, "I didn't grow up with a brother and I think the unknown is really exciting. I can't wait to have that connection with our little man."
4. Luna Bardem- Spanish power couple Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem welcomed their daughter, Luna on July 22. Their new daughter will be a little sister to two-year-old Leo.
3. Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John- Elton John and his partner, David Furnish, welcomed their second surrogate son on January 11. Elton said Elijah "completes our family in a most precious and perfect way... I have learned that a parent's capacity for love is endless. When another child is born, our depth of love just grows deeper and wider, so it was very emotional."
2. North West- American royalty and headline-making couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West (also known by their portmanteau name "Kimye,") welcomed their daughter, North West, five weeks before Kim's due date "I can not even begin 2 describe the miracle that is now apart of our family. Mommy/baby are healthy & resting. We appreciate all of the love," wrote aunt Khloe Kardashian.
1. Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge- Actual royals Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton welcomed their little prince, George, on July 22 at 4:24 p.m. George was welcomed into the world with global fanfare and widespread media coverage as the newest addition to the royal Windsor family.
