After investigation revealed that she was driving in an unsafe speed resulting to a car crash that killed a 69-year-old woman in February, Caitlyn Jenner could be charged with vehicular manslaughter.

ESPN reported that investigators of the crash have determined that the "I Am Cait" star was traveling at a speed "unsafe for the prevailing road conditions."

Last Feb. 7, the former Olympian (Bruce Jenner) was reportedly hauling an off-road vehicle onboard a trailer behind her Cadillac Escalade. According to ESPN, she steered to "avoid cars slowing for a traffic light in front of her on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu."

She was, however, unable to stop on time which caused her to hit two cars -- a Lexus and a Toyota Prius. The Lexus' driver, Kimberly Howe, died on the spot after being hit by a Hummer.

A similar CNN report noted that Jenner's case will be endorsed to the district attorney.

"Jenner's case is going to go to the district attorney next week to see if it is worthy of a misdemeanor violation for involuntary manslaughter. We did determine in the investigation that Jenner was going at an unsafe speed for the prevailing conditions, even though he was traveling under the posted speed limit," Det. Richard Curry explained in the CNN report.

The detective, however, explained that there was no gross negligence on Jenner's part.

It was also mentioned by ESPN that it was Howe's stepchildren - Dana Redmond and William Howe -- who filed the case against Jenner for the damages they suffered, though the amount was not specified.

The driver of the Prius, Jessica Steindorff, also reportedly filed a suit against Jenner to seek for damages sustained during the accident, but it is also clear how much she is asking.

CNN added that Jenner released statement immediately after the accident expressing her sympathy to the family of the fatality and those injured.

"My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident. It is a devastating tragedy, and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them," she added.

If the reality star will be convicted for the said charge, she is expected to face up to a year in county jail (misdemeanor manslaughter).

However, Variety said that her E! docuseries "I Am Cait" will not be affected, since the production for the first season is already finished. The finale will air on Sept. 3.
