In the end, Bella ended up with Jacob instead of Edward.
Not really, but Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were seen together on the red carpet of the "American Ultra" premiere.
The former "Twilight" co-stars were seen chit-chatting upon their arrival at the screening in downtown Los Angeles.
But before you could even think of the pair of them being together like that, Stewart already cleared it up, saying, "He's ... one of my best friends, so I just thought, 'Come and see the movie and hang out.'"
Now that's a normal evening out with friends, except of course that their movie is a red-carpet event, but hey, that's Hollywood for you.
US Magazine said that this is the first red carpet that the stars were in together since the final installment of their "Twilight" saga.
Speaking of Twilight, Stewart was recently asked by Uproxx about whether or not she's going to be interested in a remake of the film that catapulted her to stardom.
While she admitted that it would "fascinate" her, she wouldn't want to be involved in it for the second time.
She told the outlet, "I loved doing it. But that doesn't mean I want to keep doing it. But if other people? Yeah, sure."
She added, "To be honest with you: I would be interested. I'd be kind of fascinated, but it wouldn't emotionally affect me one way or the other."
"American Ultra", the stoner love story-turned spy saga is Stewart's latest film, where she stars alongside fellow "Adventureland" actor Jesse Eisenberg.
The film, according to The Hollywood Reporter, is a combination of Jason Bourne and "The Pineapple Express."
It follows the story of stoner Mike Howell (Eisenberg) whose plans to propose to long-time girlfriend Phoebe Larson (Stewart). However, said plans were thrwarted when he learns that he was trained by the CIA to become a lethal weapon. Unfortunately, an arm of the agency led by Adrian Yates (Topher Grace) are dead-set on eliminating him.
But while the action-comedy flick sees Eisenberg as an assassin, he said it was Stewart's character who is the strongest in the film.
He shared on Esquire, "She kind of plays various levels of vulnerability and you realize it's for an effect."
Watch out for the crazy, stoned shenanigans that Stewart and Eisenberg are bringing in "American Ultra". The film will hit theaters August 21.
