Samsung is facing an old-new rival in the phablet market in the form of Microsoft's Lumia 950.

Microsoft's newest phone is boosted with the Washington-based company's new operating system, the Windows 10 Mobile.

Microsoft Corporation is pursuing its quest to bounce back from the loss they incurred after acquiring Nokia by introducing a new mobile operating system that would match their latest Windows 10.

In fact, the company is now preparing to roll out the Windows 10 Mobile alongside two new additions to the Lumia family, which poses possible bigger competition to Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S6 Edge+.

NeuroGadget analyzed the Lumia 950 and its bigger variant, the Lumia 950 XL on Tuesday based on the two gadgets' rumored specifications.

According to the outlet, the Lumia 950 duo are rumored to have  olycarbonate covers with matte-finish with the basic color options of black or white.

The Nokia devices' WQHD display would feature a 5.5-inch OLED that would reportedly have a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels while its larger variant boasts a staggering 7 inches.

Under the hood, the Nokia 950 and 950 XL would be powered by Snapdragon 808 and 810, respectively, the latter also havinh a 64-bit octa-core processor.

Both devices reportedly would have 3GB-worth of random access memory and 3 GB of internal storage which can be expanded by the use of microSDs.

The Lumia 950's image capturing capabilities is the same as its 'sibling,' as the Finnish multinational company would reportedly build the devices with 20MP PureView rear snappers and 5MP front-facing cameras.

Differences between these babies include the wide-angle capability of the Lumia 950's secondary camera while its XL version boasts the amateur-photographer's best friend: an LED flash.

The smaller Lumia also has a silver ring along the camera's pod, which is a mere 1mm thick, as well as aluminum buttons.

These two devices are expected to have a price tag no lower than $500, making them credible matches to Samsung's highly anticipated Galaxy S6 Edge+.

Samsung's Galaxy Edge+ was deemed a "handful to use" by the Phone Arena because of its bigger size.

After its announcement on August 13, the new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ has been making the headlines for its amazing features, including its 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display that has a light and proximity sensor and is made of the scratch-resistant glass Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

In terms of camera specs, however, Nokia beats Samsung by 4 megapixels since the Korean's phablet built its rear snapper with only 16MP.

The Lumias also have an edge in terms of battery features as Microsoft decided to retain a removable and easily replaceable battery compared to the fixed power source of the Korean's Galaxy S6 Edge+.
