The term “He’s the man” gets thrown around often. But who is truly “The Man?” There’s no strict formula to determine who deserves the coveted title, but a recent incident has uncovered the top candidate. So no longer will the term be handled loosely and no longer will it bear any significance. We have found “The Man.”
Fernando Aguilera, 64, allegedly captured a wild alligator and tried to trade it for a 12 pack of frost beer at the Santa Ana Market in Miami last week. The Man. He was caught on camera trying to pawn off the gator, eventually leading to his arrest, the NY Daily News Reports.
The homeless Aguilera entered the market and dropped the 4-foot long alligator on the counter and began to negotiate with customers, offering the deadly mammal in exchange for cold frosty beer. Sounds like a reasonable barter. After no one accepted his offer, the staff called the authorities.
Police and Fish and Wildlife officer arrived on the scene and took Aguilera’s new friend, offering no beer in return. They charged him for illegally capturing, possessing and trying to sell the alligator.
“This is absolutely bizarre,” said Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman Jorge Pino. “I can’t imagine somebody wanting to barter a live four-foot alligator for a 12 pack of beer. It makes no sense to me.”
Pino assured that the alligator was not harmed in the process and was released back into the wild. Aguilera on the other hand, will have to face the consequences. However, it was all worth it. Fernando Aguilera is officially, The Man.
