If all goes well for Microsoft's new hybrid gadget, tech enthusiasts should skip the Surface Pro 3 entirely and get a Surface Pro 4 instead.
After all, its release date is nearing - it's said to be available by October 4.
In fact, Surface Pro 4 is so marvelous, that The Verge editor Tom Warren suggested skipping the SP3 altogether.
He had so much faith in the SP4, that he recommended so to a follower on Twitter.
Tech Times has revealed that the laptop-tablet hybrid will come in 12-inch and 14-inch variants, with the high-end version costing about $1,300 with a 4K screen resolution and 16GB of RAM.
Of course, for those who can't splurge over a grand, a $500 base model is also available with 4GB RAM and an 8,600mAh battery.
Reports also said that it will come with USB 3.0 ports and even an HDMI port "just for kicks."
Other reports say that the device will come with an Intel Core-i5 and Core-i7 processor, with a stylus pen similar to that of the SP3.
The Surface Pro 4 is also said to offer similar storage options to the SP3, starting at 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, and even 500GB.
Tech Radar reported that the Surface Pro tablets have been praised for their design, so the company may not deviate too much from it.
According to a blog post by Brian Hall, Microsoft's general manager for the Surface Line, SP3 accessories will be compatible with the next generation.
If all these reports and specifications are correct, it will mean that it should have a good launch for October.
A successful launch of these hybrid products will give the company a good base as to where it will go towards its other devices.
Updates suggest that the Surface Pro 4 could also come with a powerful Broadwell chip from Intel that can result to a fan-less tablet.
A report from 36KR said that the chip has small holes in the casing that would allow for heat radiation and dissipation, allowing the company to make a thinner and quieter Surface Pro gadget.
The Surface Pro 4 is among the most-awaited gadgets this year, however, it will be competing with Apple's iPad Pro, which is also said to come with digital pen capabilities.
However, as Inquisitr noted, the Surface Pro 4 has the edge over Apple's products this time around as it has already been seen as the leader in laptop-tablet hybrids.
