The next Pokémon film has been confirmed, and the main focus may have been revealed: Mega Evolution.
A trailer for the next Pokémon film has been released on the official Japanese Pokémon YouTube account. The trailer shows Ash Ketchum with Pikachu followed by images of the legendary Xerneas and Yveltal.
The movie poster, however, may be more epic than the trailer.
The movie poster for the next Pokémon film shows 12 Pokémon and each under their own spotlight. The 12 Pokémon are in their Mega Evolution forms. The 12 are Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Blastoise, Mega Scizor, Mega Mewtwo Y, Mega Charizard X, Mega Blaziken, Mega Lucario, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Garchomp, Mega Gardevoir, Mega Venusaur, and Mega Absol.
Meanwhile, a Pikachu short will accompany the main flick. The Pikachu short, known as "Pikachu, What Kind of Key Is This?" will focus on the new Fairy-and-Steel type Pokémon Klefki. A poster for the Pikachu short features legendary Pokémon such as Victini, Darkrai, and Jirachi.
The latest Pokémon film is confirmed to be released in theatres on July 19, 2014 in Japan. A U.S. release date has not been set but likely will air on Cartoon Network in late 2014.
