The Philadelphia Phillies are reportedly interested in trading away veteran shortstop Jimmy Rollins, who joins other teammates Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels and Jonathan Papelbon on the list of players being mentioned on the trading mill.

It comes as no surprise to everybody that Phillies are once again trying to shop the veteran All-Star hitter. Rollins, who played for the Phillies ever since he made his Big League debut in 2000, is now eligible for the 10-and-5 provision (accumulating 10 total MLB seasons and at least five seasons with a ballclub). In order for potential trades to get done, Rollins has to first waive this provision.

"Rollins is eligible for the 10-and-5 provision, meaning he has accrued 10 total MLB seasons and has spent at least the last five seasons with a team. Should Philadelphia approach Rollins about a deal, he would have to waive his 10-and-5 rights to get it done-something typically frowned upon by the players' association," Bleacher Report MLB insider Tyler Conway stated.

Rollins' Possible Destinations

Rollins, who batted just .252 with six home runs and 39 RBIs this season, has been the subject of trade speculation ever since he signed a three-year, $33 million deal contract extension with the Phillies in 2011.

Once considered the most potent shortstop in the National League, the 35-year old Rollins' production started to plunge over the last few years. The Phillies even tried to put him on waivers last season, but he eventually went unclaimed.

In an interview with the Philadelphia Daily News, Rollins stressed that he has no intention of waiving his no-trade clause until he accomplished several milestones with the ballclub.

"There are still a couple things I would like to be number one on the lists of in this organization," Rollins told the Philadelphia Daily News. "So until those things are done, I'm not going anywhere."

However, the Phillies made it known to every team in the MLB that they are very much willing to move Rollins, who will most likely draw interest from a number of teams, including the reloaded Seattle Mariners, Minnesota Twins and New York Mets.
