Florida Christian minister Jeremiah Johnson prophesized that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump would "usher" of in the second coming of Christ, receiving varying responses from the public.

The controversial prophecy written by Johnson and published in Charisma Mag on July 28 has made it to the headlines and broke the Internet after claiming that "Donald Trump shall become the trumpet," citing Bible verses that allegedly name the GOP candidate as God's divine instrument.

According to Johnson, the Holy Spirit spoke to him about Trump's "destiny" in the United States, saying, ""Trump shall become My trumpet to the American people, for he possesses qualities that are even hard to find in My people these days."

Johnson continued with his article, saying how Trump is the perfect usher for the second coming of Christ because he "does not fear man nor will he allow deception and lies to go unnoticed."

The prophecy further revealed that God would use the real-estate magnate "to expose darkness and perversion in America" and described him as someone whom many would not approve of because "he will disturb their sense of peace and tranquility."

WND said that the alleged prophecy made use of the Old Testament account about the pagan King Cyrus who did not believe in God but was chosen to work on His behalf.

Because of its controversial nature, the article immediately received varying responses, one of which includes a blog from Grove City College Psychology Professor Earl Warren Throckmorton which he considered as the "Best Article in the 'Wait, This Isn't Parody?' Category."

"If I was of a mind to write a parody of a Charismatic minister writing about Donald Trump, an article like this would have been a good result," Throckmorton wrote on his blog.

Another blogger in the Formerly Fundie blog of Patheos named Benjamin L. Corey considered Johnson's prophecy as the "dumbest thing" he'd ever read in his life.

He said, "I'm not trying to be overly or unnecessarily critical, either. It just really, truly, is the dumbest thing I've ever read. I had to read it three times to make sure it wasn't the Onion."

According to Right Wing Watch, Johnson admitted over his Facebook account that he has been receiving plenty of accusations and hate over his column, and expressed that he only created the account to enlighten those who grossly misinterpreted what was published.

On the other hand, Joe Kovacs of the WorldNetDaily defended Johnson and even agreed with his prophecy emphasizing that the minister merely reported what God told him.

He further added that the word 'trump' actually appeared two times in the New Testament of King James's version of the Bible, first referring to trumpet sounding during the Second Coming of Jesus and second in the resurrection of the dead.
