Three impressive flagship phones from LG, Google, and Samsung would soon be running on the latest Android Lollipop 5.1.1 as updates are gradually being rolled out.
Users would need to be informed about a couple of things:
LG G4
According to Android Origin, LG would most probably release the new Android Lollipop build for the LG G4.
This is in spite of rumors indicating that the electronics company has a tendency to skip operating system updates.
LG noticeably skipped the Android KitKat's 4.4, 4.4.1, 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 versions which shows how the Korean mobile manufacturer handles OTA updates.
Apparently, the LG G4 may be receiving the Android Lollipop update especially since the new OS build contains bug fixes of the controversial Stagefright vulnerability.
The outlet also revealed that the roll out of the Stagefright Patch may happen for LG devices within the following 30 days.
However, mothing is sure yet as there would still be the possibility that the company would just opt to provide the new Android M to G4 users and skip the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 altogether.
Google's Nexus 7
Since it is the Google's own brand, Nexus phones, including the fan-favorite Nexus 7, is expected to get the new Android Lollipop build 5.1.1 to solve the "lingering" Android 5.1 issues.
According to GottaBeMobile, the company confirmed exactly that.
However, the roll out was "extremely limited" considering that not all Nexus 7 variants did not receive the update.
Among the variants that would not receive the update include both the Wi-Fi and cellular versions of Nexus 7 2012.
The outlet concluded that the Nexus model has finally reached "the end of its rope."
The 2012 variant of the Nexus 7 would most probably not receive the new Android M upon its release.
On the other hand, both the Wi-Fi and LTE versions of the Nexus 7 2013 would most probably have the new Android 5.1.1 this month according to OTA.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4
Users of Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 with model number SM-N910P are also among the lucky few that would receive the 5.1.1 update on their Android Lollipop-run phones.
According to the International Business Times, the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 is now available for the said device via Sprint.
Itcan also be downloaded from Sam Mobile and with the following configuration: CSC: N910PSPT4COG5 and product code: SPR, PDA: N910PVPU4COG5.
According to the report, users who installed the update reportedly experienced an improved overall performance of their smartphones.
