The Houston Rockets are reportedly close to trading disgruntled center Omer Asik, which could also pave way to dealing Jeremy Lin before the NBA trade deadline this season.

ESPN Radio reported that the Lin could also find his way out of Houston once the Asik trade is consummated.

According to the report, Lin, who signed a three-year worth $25 million with the Rockets during the summer of 2012, is expected to attract interest from other teams once the Rockets officially start shopping the 25-year-old point guard.

"And I know this is blasphemy, but I'm telling you right now: Jeremy Lin could also be on his way out of Houston," ESPN radio's Alan Hahn said. "If they can find a take for him and that contract ... like I said from what I heard, I've talked to some GM's from around the league, there is a strong feeling that if the Rockets can find a take, they will definitely move Lin, that's for sure."

Lin had a great start this season despite coming off the bench in most of Houston's games. However, a knee sprain caused him to miss six games. When he returned from the knee injury, the former Harvard University standout hurt his back, which caused him to skip their game against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.

Despite the recent setback, Lin vowed to remain focus and promised to work hard in order to get into the groove once his ailing back heals.

"They told me everybody responds differently," Lin told the Ultimate Rockets. "I just have to see how my body responds. It's been a tough couple weeks. I know everything happens for a reason. I'm going to keep staying positive, keep working hard with whatever role I have, whether that's rehabbing or playing."

However, it should be noted that Lin's injury paved way for the reemergence of veteran point guard Aaron Brooks, who averaged 11.4 points and 3.5 assists in his last eight games, while Patrick Beverley also continues to play quality starter's minutes for the Rockets.

The excellent performances of Brooks and Beverley could convince the Rockets to trade Lin -- a move that would give them financial flexibility moving forward.
