Winter is coming, and so are flashbacks.

A reliable source told "Game of Thrones" fan website Watchers on the Wall  that Ned Stark will be returning for the sixth season for a flashback scene.

But before you get excited, the series is going for some major throwback -way back before the series began.

Way, way, back.

Sean Bean isn't returning to reprise his role as the head of the Stark family - the character is going to be taken over be 13-year-old English actor, Sebastian Croft.

Croft has a lot of experience in theater, and has appeared in London West End productions of "Matilda", "Les Miserables", and as the title role in a new musical for "The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4".

leak for casting breakdown recently surfaced, confirming fan suspicions that the show will have childhood flashbacks.

A call for a young boy with brown hair, narrow face and green eyes with Northern accent was one of the giveaways for the appearance of a younger Ned.

Another character is returning as well, although not as a younger version of himself, and maybe with less enthusiasm from fans. David Bradley may be an excellent actor, but his return as traitor to the North and to the Starks makes his return more sinister as Walder Frey.

The Mirror reported that Bradley confirmed at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour that he will be back to reprise his role.

However, in an interview with Zap2It, he refused to say exactly when he's expected to return, telling the outlet, "He will be coming back, but I can't say when. I can't really say because things are in a delicate situation."

Frey may be a despicable character, but that's also the reason why Bradley is such a fan. He revealed, "I'm afraid he makes me laugh because he's so appalling that there's a kind of dark humour in there somewhere."

And in case you don't know why he's appalling, he played a large part in the infamous Red Wedding, where King Robb (Richard Madden), his wife Talisa (Oona Chaplin), and his mother, Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley) were all murdered, as were the rest of their army.

Then there's the new cast member. Watchers on the Wall also reported the involvement of actor Fergus Leathem in season 6, although his role has yet to be disclosed.

However, the Twitter account of his management company already congratulated him for snagging a role.

"Game of Thrones" is expected to return for its sixth season in the Spring of 2016.
