Super Smash Bros. 4 will be the first entry in the franchise that will be appearing on a handheld console, but the 3DS version of the game has, for the most part, taken a backseat to the Wii U version of the game. However, a new post from the game's creator reveals new details about one of the exclusive stages for the 3DS version of the game.
Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of both versions of the game, revealed a new screenshot through his Miiverse account, showing off the Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks level for the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros 4. The level has appeared in videos of the game released by Nintendo, but this is the first time that Nintendo has released details about what the stage will be like.
According to Sakurai, the level will be very dynamic, which makes sense given the fact that players will be fighting it out on a moving train.
"Pic of the day. In the train stage, the rear car can change during battle. It'll detach and move backward, so be careful! This pic features the Linebeck Trading Company, which is being transported for some reason," said Sakurai.
This should make the Spirit Tracks stage for Super Smash Bros. 4 one of the more exciting stages for the game as it will allow for many different configurations for the stage that will keep players on their toes.
The 3DS and Wii U versions of will have their own exclusive stages. The Wii U, instead of having a Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks stage, will have a stage based on Skyward Sword. This will allow for both versions of Super Smash Bros. 4 to be distinctive and have stages based on both console and handheld games in Nintendo's history.
Super Smash Bros. 4 is scheduled for 2014. Nintendo has yet to announce a formal release date. A rumor began circulating that the game would be released in the spring; however, Nintendo quickly denied this rumor and explained that statement was the result of a mistranslation. Now fans will once again have to guess and speculate as to when the game will have to come out. Fortunately, Nintendo releases screenshots for the game every weekday so fans have a constant stream of information about the game coming in from the company.
