Those who are not too fond of the typical touch screen phones have reasons to celebrate, as Samsung and LG both realized that there is still market for traditional phones like the flip. Android Central reported that following the release of the Golden is Samsung's launch of the Galaxy Folder.

The website noted that the company actually released its first Folder model in 2013, with the latest being a second-generation model. However, it seems that the new version has impressive features and hardware installed, many of which are expected to be note-worthy.

According to GSM Arena, the Samsung Galaxy Folder has a 3.8-inch screen display with 480 x 800-pixel resolution, working on a 1.2 GHz Quad Core processor and a Lollipop OS. It is said to feature an 8GB rear camera with a 2MP front-facer. It is also said to have 8GB internal memory, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD slot.

The Galaxy Folder will have a 1,800 mAH battery, which means that it can last up to 10 hours of talk time or 32 hours of music play. It is available in two colors only: black and white.

The Samsung Folder is expected to go on sale in Korea by August. However, it is highly doubtful that it will be available in the US and European markets.

How does Samsung's flip phone fare with LG's next model, the Gentle?

In a separate report by Android Central, the LG Gentle is said to have a 3.2-inch 480 x 320-pixel LCD touch screen display, with a 1.1 GHz quad-core processor. Unlike Samsung's Folder, it will have an inferior camera, with the rear one at a 3MP resolution and a front VGA version. It is said to have a 1,700 mAH removable battery, only slightly lesser than Samsung's model.

Memory-wise, the LG Gentle will have 4GB internal storage with microSD expansion card slot.

The LG Gentle has already been released in Korean markets for KRW 200,000, and like the Samsung Galaxy Folder, it is likely that the model will not be released in the US and European markets.
