Ronda Rousey (11-0) will face Brazilian bantamweight challenger Bethe Correia (9-0) tonight in Rio de Janiero. At the weigh-in, which took place yesterday, Rousey thanked her Brazilian fans for all the "noise" and "passion", adding that "You're not going to be disappointed. I'm going to give you the best women's title fight you've ever seen, the most devastating loss you've ever seen for Bethe and my best win. I can't wait for tomorrow" (quote from ESPN).

The fight is being billed as the Women's World Bantamweight Championship and will take place as the headline even of UFC 190 in HSBC Arena Saturday night. While there exists domestic support for Correia, who is also undefeated, Rousey is not that unpopular for a foreign fighter and has received fairly positive reactions from the crowds at media events this week, reports ESPN.

Correia said that she's "dreamed about this moment for a long time," and "I think Brazilians need a female champion. I know a lot of people aren't rooting for me, but I'm going to fight for all of Brazil."

Much of the media attention surround the fight has focused on women's MMA and Ronda Rousey's dominance in a relatively new sport, which according to a recent Deadspin article is "partly because of sexism that has led to questions about whether women can fight or should fight that are still being asked right now, today."
