LG wants to steal Samsung's thunder.
Gotta Be Mobile reported that earlier this year, rumors of LG with a bigger, better, and faster LG G4 Note or LG G4 Pro to compete with Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 is in the works.
Korean outlet ET News also said that they have sources claiming that LG is releasing a "super premium phone" on top of their LG G4 "derivatives."
The rumored specs of the LG G4 Note or Pro include the following:
- 5.8-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD Quantum display
- 8-core Snapdragon 820 processor
- 4GB of RAM
- 32-64GB storage
- Micro-SD slot
- 27MP rear and 8MPwide-angle front camera setup
- Android 5.1 or Android M
- Built-in Stylus
- Huge battery
- Potential October release date
For prosterity, check out the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 specs, according to GSM Arena:
- 5.7-inch QHD Display
- Exynos 7422 SoC
- 4GB of RAM
- 16MP rear camera
- Built-in stylus
- 4,100 mAh battery
The 5.8-inch display of the LG G4 Note makes it larger than the Galaxy Note's 5.7, however, it is not known whether or not Samsung will be keeping its size in the same range.
If Samsung does plan on staying ahead of the curve, there is a possibility that the company will increase the size of the Note 5, according to Value Walk.
Its October release date would put the LG G4 models a bit later than the Note 5 and the iPhone 6S. While this could be a bad thing, the upside for the company is that it will take the stage all by itself.
With the LG G4 released very near the holiday sales burst, sales may soar for the model, which is a good thing - it may be LG's best smartphone so far.
LG's president and CEO of mobile communications revealed that the company is aiming to expand its share of the smartphone market by having more premium offerings, as well as devices crammed with "high-tech functions.
This could mean that the new LG flagship phone will be a true mobile powerhouse, according to Neowin.
So what does this mean for the LG G4 Note (or Pro)? According to Forbes, it means that the latest flagship from LG could compete with Samsung's upcoming phablet, and maybe even the Apple iPhone 6S Plus. But for now, all the rumors should be taken with a grain of salt --- it is best to wait for the official announcement from the companies, lest we be too excited.
However, do you think that LG can really compete with giants like Samsung and Apple in this regard?
