Two tablets that are creating a buzz in the tech world recently are the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and the Microsoft Surface Pro 4.
The Samsung device is expected to be released this coming September with its specifications already made available to the public while the Microsoft tablet is anticipated to be released a month later.
Here are the similarities and differences between the two devices.
Display and Screen
According to Phone Arena, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 variants will have an 8-inch and 9.7-inch Super AMOLED screens with 1536 x 2048 resolution.
On the other hand, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is claimed to have two size variants - 13 and 14-inch display size - with a 2,160 x 1,440 pixel resolution as per WccfTech.
Processor and Memory
The Samsung tablet will also reportedly be powered by Exynos 5433 SoC with an octa-core CPU and the Mali-T760 MP6 GPU.
Phone Arena added that both models will have a 3GB of RAM and 32/64GB built-in storage.
"Users of either tablet will have the ability to access a 128GB capacity microSD slot if additional storage is required," wrote the outlet.
On the other hand, Tech Radar said the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will have the Skylake chip, which is considered as one of the most powerful chipsets in the market. It will also reportedly come with a 1 TB version aside from the 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 500GB internal storage options that the Surface Pro 3 previously had.
Camera
A separate TechRadar report indicated that the Samsung device will have an 8MP rear camera and a 2.1 MP front-facing shooter.
There have been few mentions about the camera of the Surface Pro 4 but some have noted that its front and rear shooter will be improved. TechNewsToday also suggested that new technologies could be incorporated in the camera.
"An iris scanner utilizing infrared functionality baked into the front camera, the process of unlocking just by looking at the Surface Pro 4 could be sped up drastically. If that actually happens or Microsoft makes a RealSense 3D camera a possibility on the Surface Pro 4 then it could help with Windows Hello and improve Skype video calling in the process maybe," the same report explained.
Price
As for the price, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 Wi-Fi variant can be reserved for $438 while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 Wi-Fi version can be pre-ordered for $548, according to Phone Arena.
ITPro estimated that the Microsoft tablet could cost between $930 to $2,500 (£600 to £1,600) for its basic and high-end versions.
