The Christmas in July craze is getting crazier after Best Buy recently joined retailers slashing big amounts from the original prices of the items they sell.
According to Fox59, retailers joining the event will host a two-day Black Friday activity beginning Friday morning, with Best Buy even extending it with a Cyber Monday activity come July 27.
"Retailers are always looking for new and creative ways to promote themselves and to drive traffic to their stores, but to see something called Black Friday in July is certainly new for us this year. It's just the next stage in retailers efforts to increase sales," Indiana Retailers Association president Grant Monahan told Fox 59.
The event is set to happen a week after the Amazon Prime Day, Wal-Mart and Target had their sales.

The participation of Best Buy, according to Madame Noire, will give other retailers like Amazon a run for their money.
"This is a fight to the death for market share, these companies want at best to hold on to their market share but of course they want to grow it. They want to fend off the online competition, specifically Amazon. And Amazon wants to scale all these customers and more Prime members to sign up to pay them an ongoing fee all year," said financial contributor Melody Hobson in the Madame Noire report.
And with some having earlier Black Friday sales earlier than scheduled, many are thinking that the term and event itself may soon lose appeal to which Monahan agreed.
"I think that's a possibility over time as retailers begin to expand that holiday shopping season and start it sooner. I think it's going to maybe take some of the luster off of Black Friday, but still I think people look for that tradition of that start to the Christmas shopping season and it still means a lot to many customers and to retailers as well," added Monahan.
