There had been trouble in paradise for quite some time with WNBA couple Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson as revealed by recently obtained court documents saying that a man caused the rift between the two.

TMZ Sports said they obtained annulment documents revealing that Griner's claim that she found out that Johnson was in constant communication with her ex-boyfriend during their engagement. The Phoenix Mercury star also clarified that had she known about the infidelity, she would have never asked to marry the Tulsa Shock player in August last year.

It was added in a New York Daily News report that Griner also learned that her wife had sex with a man in the summer of 2014, the time when they were starting to date.

"And Brittney doesn't want to be an ATM -- saying Glory doesn't deserve spousal support because they were only married for 28 days. Plus, neither got paid during that period due to their WNBA suspensions for domestic violence," noted the TMZ report.

According to USA Today, Johnson has requested Griner for financial assistance amounting to "$20,000 per month in spousal support in addition to a $10,000 advancement toward attorney fees."

This could have been due to the fact the Johnson is pregnant with twins via in-vitro fertilization with a sperm donor.

Johnson's representative, DJ Fisher, reportedly called the allegations false, noting that the accused just have a lot of male friends.

Twenty-eight days after their marriage on May 28 and a day after Johnson announced her pregnancy, Griner filed to annul their union, according to USA Today.

She initially said that Johnson made false statements to pressure her into marriage.

But on July 13, Griner file a motion to change her initial petition and revealed the above-stated details.

A hearing schedule on Aug. 17 will hear the marriage petition of Griner noting that they are not entitled to spousal support.

Meanwhile, they are were both slapped with a seven-game suspension by the WNBA after their arrest due to a fight in Arizona last April 22. Griner has reportedly served her suspension already while Johnson will be sitting out for this season because of her pregnancy.

Three weeks before their marriage, the two were arrested for domestic violence charges after fighting in their Arizona home, inflicting physical injuries on each other.

The Phoenix Mercury player agreed to plead guilty to disorderly conduct. She was required to attend 26 weeks of counselling.

The two women were both considered "victims" at the time of arrest, but Johnson's lawyer, Howard Snader, told Sports Illustrated that Johnson was the target rather than the perpetrator.

He said that Johnson was hit on the head twice -- with a heavy case -- while Griner only sustained minor scratches.

"A CT scan corroborated that Johnson had experienced head trauma and suffered a concussion. The CT scan also found evidence of spinal trauma," Sports Illustrated wrote.
