No one’s untouchable. No matter how famous you are, no matter how much people love you, there will be haters lurking in the shadows, ready to pounce at the first opportunity that presents itself. And sometimes, toplist celebrities have to learn the hard way.

Drake has learned that he too is vulnerable to misfortune. He’s been sued for allegedly backing out of two Chicago concerts after being paid over $200,000 to perform, TMZ reports. Promoters at Status Entertainment claim that Drake refused to perform unless he received “more money due to Drake’s newfound name.”

When Drake first cancelled the March 2012 concert, Status reported that OVO promised to refund them the $100,000, which they never did. They even went as far to say that an inside source told them Drake had already spent the money. Drake later performed a concert in Chicago with a different promoter in June, with whom he profited greatly. He then planned a second concert with Status for October and received another $100,000.

OVO later responded that they changed the price because their value went up, so Status canceled the concert and asked for their $200,000. Drake’s team said they would pay, but never followed through.

In addition to the $200,000 owed, Status is suing Drake for court costs, interest, and “disgorgement of profits,” which is the amount they would have made had Drake performed.
