Khloe Kardashian has put the blame on Lamar Odom for their impending divorce noting that she gave the basketball star enough chances to make their relationship work.

According to TMZ, Koko "tried everything in the book to patch up her marriage to Odom, but he treated it as a joke."

It also added that the reality TV star pondered on filing the divorce documents for about a year in an effort to make things work with her husband.

"We're told she scheduled numerous couples therapy sessions but Lamar missed almost every one with lame excuses. In one case she found out he was at a pool party," TMZ added.

She also reportedly tried her best to free the basketball player from his drug addiction, but he just kept on relapsing with Khloe saying that "he has gone too far."

The decision to finally sign the divorce documents on Friday reportedly came after Kardashian tried all her best to make her marriage work with Odom.

E!Online added that the reality star has expressed her happiness in this recent development in her life.

"Such a crazy day!!! Very emotional! Thank you all for being so loving and supportive!!!" Kardashian tweeted.

The divorce documents were reportedly filed late last week, with both Odom and Kardashian reaching an agreement to sign off on the paperwork. The divorce is also expected to be finalized in a few days.

Huffington Post noted that the couple married in 2009, after they dated for just a month. It also noted that their problems started in mid 2013, when Odom was reportedly using illegal substances, that led him to hook up with other women.

Last December 2013, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star filed for a divorce but there has been no development for a couple of years.

An earlier Daily Mail report even indicated that Odom said that Koko was still his girl.

After they separated, the reality TV star dated French Montana but they reportedly split recently, with her now allegedly dating Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden.

In a May 26 Instagram post, Kardashian seems to have opened up about her feelings about Odom.

"I know you've lost someone and it hurts. You may have lost them suddenly, unexpectedly. Or perhaps you began losing pieces of them until one day, there was nothing left. You may have known them all your life or you may have barely known them at all. Either way, it is irrelevant - you cannot control the depth of a wound another soul inflicts upon you," the post reads.

The post, which was entitled "Broken Hearts," went on to state that the writer "is not here to tell you tomorrow is another day. That the sun will go on shining. Or there are plenty of fish in the sea."
