DC's villainous film, "Suicide Squad" is among the most awaited for next year, but a wild theory leaked, and it states that the Joker isn't actually Joker.
Hold up, what?
Fans know from the trailer that the psychopathic villain with whom we have love-hate relationships with, will be making an appearance, however, there is more to the Joker than meets the eye. Blastr reported that Reddit threads think he's not the actual joker, but is actually Jason Todd, AKA Batman's former sidekick, Robin.
If you're not familiar with the whole Batman story, Joker and Jason is tied together as the original Joker beat Batman's sidekick to death in 1988, and according to Redditor Jason-G169, Jason may be a bit miffed that his mentor was not able to save him from their nemesis.
But how does this hold up in the story?
Jason-G169 noted that on the trailer for "Batman v Superman", a vandal on Bruce Wayne's (Ben Affleck) costume read, "The joke's on you Batman" which the Redditor took to mean as something Jason wrote after he became deranged in the hands of the original Joker, and based on the comic books, it was in Jason's fate to become the next Joker, after all—to become the arch nemesis of his father, and while they were working together, Bruce was Jason's surrogate father.
Of course, the theory that the Suicide Squad's Joker is up for debate, and Movie Pilot is not convinced about the Jason Todd theory, mainly because DC will not begin their franchise with the fan-favorite, not to mention, most popular DC villain starting off dead.
Now, while "Batman v. Superman" and "Suicide Squad" will not be released until next year, it looks like there is no way to tone down the different theories that would spark over the next few months. The Hollywood Reporter already noted that fans are definitely looking forward to the DC universe's adaptations, with "Suicide Squad" leading in the trailer rankings, besting the hero against hero fight in "Dawn of Justice."
"Suicide Squad"is about a team of villains-turned-heroes on a secret government mission, and stars Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Cara Delevigne, and Viola Davis. The film will premiere in theaters on August 5, 2016.
Who do you think is Jared Leto's Joker— the original enigma, or will it be Jason Todd, as theorized by the Reddit user?
