Barry Allen is getting a superhero makeover!

The CW just released new photos of Barry's (Grant Gustin) new look, and while his look is very similar to his Season 1 suit, USA Today reported that there are a few very important differences.

For instance, the logo on his chest, which used to be a lightning bolt with a red crest, now looks more like the the comics with a white crest in place. There's also a hint of strange light around the said crest, which hints of a bigger part of the Speed Force. Hints of yellow lines also runs up and down his suit, bearing semblance to the Flash's 52 makeover.

All in all, these subtle changes, the outlet said, could be a nod to the multiverse direction that the second season will be heading to.

However, while Barry's new look is a definite upgrade, Zap 2 It said that fans will see more than just this version of the Flash in the upcoming season.

The multiverse direction will have Jay Garrick (the Flash from Earth 2) will find his way to Central City, as indicated by the presence of his helmet in the season 1 finale; as will Wally West, who is better known as Kid Flash and The Flash in DC's comics.

And then, there's the storyline. While fans have been abuzz about the multiverse angle, there is still more to the Flash than just going form one dimension to another. Producer Andrew Kriesberg spoke about what's going to be in store for Barry, saying that he will be more of a heroic figure.

He said during the SDCC, as reported by Screen Rant,"I think one of the biggest things that we're sort of tackling this year which is very different from any of the other shows we've done is [public perception] about The Flash. He's becoming a public figure."

"Watching Barry deal with the fact that he's becoming a little bit famous and he's not just the mysterious red streak is something that gets dealt with a lot in newer episodes," he added.

Kreisberg also teased at the same event that there will be more villains to look forward to in the upcoming season, although he admitted that the rogues they have in mind should do something to help in Barry's character development.

"There's definitely going to be more Rogues. We don't sit down and say how many characters do we dump into this? It's like: What can we do for the characters that we have? And when we bring somebody on, it's not just to bring a character on. It's to: how is that character coming in going to affect and change and help our characters grow?"

Fans are definitely looking forward to what's new next season, which will premiere on Tuesday, October 6 on The CW.
