HBO's "Game of Thrones" is known for its shock factor, but as it turns out, we haven't seen the best (or worst) of it yet.
Yes, there were a lot of shocking events that happened in Season 5: Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) being raped, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) walking around King's Landing in a brutally humiliating walk of shame, and of course, the reeling shock of the death of Jon Snow (Kit Harington).
However, it seems that producers DB Weiss and David Benioff are ready to pull out all stops, and as noted by Emilia Clarke, "Game of Thrones" is ready to up the shock factor. In an interview with LA Times, she said that while previous seasons usually have to set the scene for a long time, there is none of that for season 6, and that there is much in store for her character, Daenerys Targaryen. She said, "It's just go, go, go, go. Shocking moment to shocking moment. Epic moment to epic moment. It's mental; it's epic. And definitely Dany's a part of it."
She also said that after her rocky ride as a ruler in the previous seasons, her character will be on an "upward trajectory" in the following season.
The last we've seen of her character, Dany found herself surrounded by Dothraki horsemen, which could imply the return of her role as their Khaleesi (and having to brush up on her Dothraki, which she admitted to be more difficult for her than learning Valyrian).
As for the other cast members, there is little that we know. As noted by the Sydney Morning Herald, the series already caught up with the original book material from George RR Martin, and the sixth novel is yet to be published. However Martin said that "Winds of Winter" should be out by the time the sixth season airs, so fans can still get ahead of the series.
However, there are more pressing matters to discuss with the producers at this time, mostly, whether or not many of its cast members will be attending the upcoming Emmy Awards.
According to Vanity Fair, "Game of Thrones" has a staggering 24 Emmy nominations in total, many of the cast and crew members are up for awards. The problem is that the Emmys is smack right in the middle of their filming schedule.
Clarke already planned on going. She shared, "I've got my dress already, so, I win."
What do you think will make season 6 so "epic" and "mental," as Clarke described it?
