New reports have surfaced about the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Note 5 Edge.
The tech giant usually releases its flagship Note 5 phablet at this time of the year, PPP Focus wrote. This timetable will likely come through in 2015 again, given that some reports are suggesting that the Galaxy Note 5 and Note 5 Edge will be released in August 12 at the IFA show in Berlin. The event saw the unveiling of the first Galaxy Note device.
Listed below are the rumored specs and features of the phablet. Note that these are all speculations at the moment and Samsung is yet to issue an official statement.
Design & Display
According to Gotta Be Mobile, the Galaxy Note 5 will likely sport a design similar to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, which boasts of a metal and glass finish.
The Galaxy Note 5 is said to measure at 153.3mm x 76.1mm x 7.9mm, a size that is thicker than the 6.8mm thin of the Galaxy S6, Gotta Be Mobile added. As for its display size, the phablet is expected to come in at 5.7-inches with a Quad HD 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution also found in the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
Processor, RAM, Battery, and Other Features
GSM Arena wrote that the Galaxy Note 5 will be powered by the Exynos 7422 chipset, along with a 4,100mAh battery. The phablet is expected to come in at 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB variants.
Aside from these, the device is said to have 4GB of RAM, 16MP primary camera, 5MP front shooter, Android Lollipop with upgrade to Android M, and a fingerprint scanner, PC Advisor listed.
S Pen
Live photos of the S Pen included as an accessory in the Galaxy Note 5 has surfaced online, GSM Arena reported. The S Pen, similar to its predecessors, features a side button that "is utilized to deliver a host functions that set the phablet apart from its competitors," the news outlet explained.
The S Pen's top appears clickable, a function that's missing from other variations of the accessory, GSM Arena noted. Gotta Be Mobile wrote that the accessory could have an auto-eject feature that Samsung patented to be utilized for its Galaxy Note series.
SamMobile suggested that the S Pen will appear and feel just like a real pen in users' hands. There are also sayings that the stylus will match the color of the Galaxy Note 5.
Price
PC Advisor speculated that the Galaxy Note 5 will cost somewhere between $857 and $934.
