The entertainment news outlet was able to get an exclusive interview with the "Supergirl" gang at the Comic-Con suite in San Diego's Hard Rock Hotel.

Melissa Benoist, who reportedly did not wish to involve herself in negativities of the social media, would play the coveted titular role.

Aside from the "Glee" alumnae, the show's "heavy hitters" also include Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow "Winn" Schott, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Supergirl's sister Alex Danvers, and David Harewood as Hank Henshaw.

Speaking of curious, TV Line was able to ask a couple of liberating questions from the cast members including Brooks' opinion on criticisms about him playing a "white" character.

"If somebody has a problem, judge me on the content of my scenes - and my 'character,'" he explains.

Jordan also disclosed some spoilers about his character, saying that Winn Schott's crush on Supergirl would be "screamingly obvious" as early as the show's premiere.

Meanwhile, iO9.com revealed some hints on what how show would handle some DC superhero conflicts, specifically that of Supergirl staying in the shadow of the Man of Steel.

"That shadow is something we all face in life, whether it's our boss or our brother, or our cousin," executive producer Ali Adler told iO9.com. "Or our cousin who flies over Metropolis."

He added that even the most successful people have someone who stays ahead of them in some way.

The website inquired about how the show would handle the looming question of "Why her" which the producer answered with a promise that "over the course of the season and the series, that question will matter less."

Furthermore, tickling the audience's curiosity further by giving clues about Supergirl's powers by saying that she has all Superman has plus a couple of more.

Adler also vowed that the show would deliver impressive special effects, amazing sets, and a comedic atmosphere that still rings of the Man of Steel's legacy.

"The Donner films, when I was a kid, set such a standard," co-producer Greg Berlanti stated, adding that what they did with Supergirl was something "more at that level."
