So far, troubled star Amanda Bynes seems to be on the right track in piecing her life back together after spending months in a mental health institution.

The 27-year-old actress was recently released from an exclusive Malibu treatment facility where she received inpatient rehab for months.  She is now living at her parents' house in Los Angeles and has already spent a day in Disneyland with her parents and paid a visit to a fashion school in California earlier this week.

On Wednesday, the former child star, who has expressed an interest in pursuing a fashion career, was spotted touring the Orange County campus of the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.

A source exclusively tells E! News that the "Hairspray" star was wearing jeans, a floral-print shirt and sunglasses. She also had her hair pulled back in a ponytail and tucked underneath a hat.

Bynes, who collaborated on a line called "Dear" for Steve & Barry back in 2007, is "now looking at various colleges with the intention of majoring in fashion design," said her lawyer Tamar Arminak. "She's mentioned before she's interested in creating a clothing line."

Arminak also said that Bynes is continuing outpatient treatment.

The former Nickelodean star displayed erratic behavior and disturbing tweets for months in 2013 before she was committed to a psychiatric hospital on July 22 after setting fire to a stranger's driveway in Thousand Oaks, Calif. around the corner from her parents' home. She was also rumored to have been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

In September, Bynes left UCLA's famed psychiatric center and moved to a luxurious rehabilitation facility in Malibu called The Canyon, reports The New York Daily News. The facility also offers yoga classes, organic meals, a saltwater pool, equine therapy and a therapeutic sweat lodge, according to its website

Sources say that because her mental health has shown improvement thanks to her medication and psychological counseling, her doctors decided to let her leave the exclusive rehab facility.
