Cast member Gwendoline Christie and episode director David Nutter reveals another death that was not shown in the season finale of "Game of Thrones" Season 5 and its none other than Stannis Baratheon.
Yes. Fans of the epic TV series would be mourning another character from the show after Christie, who plays Brienne of Tarth, told Kristin Dos Santos of E! News that Stephen Dillane's character was killed at the final episode of GoT's fifth season.
"I can't offer you any insight whatsoever [why his death wasn't shown onscreen] because I don't write the show and I don't direct the show...yet!," Christie jokingly told the "Watch with Kristin" host at the San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday.
"No, but how could you ever doubt Brienne? What did you think I was doing, giving him a haircut?" she added further, referring to her character who vowed to seek revenge against Stannis Baratheon.
Even the episode's director David Nutter confirmed it with Entertainment Weekly, saying: "From the very beginning, and [through] the script process, that was the intent - he's dead."
Here's the actual interview from E! Online.
Of course, GoT fans are still speculating about the fate of their favorite character, Jon Snow who "died" during the fifth season.
According to Hollywood Reporter, a fan who attended the Comic-Con asked the "Game of Thrones" team if there is a possibility that Melisandre would magically revive him.
Carice van Houten who plays the character just answered: "I'm as in the dark as you are. But who knows, man? I can't tell you anything."
Meanwhile, some fans are now speculating as to why there had been no casting announcements during the event. The "Game of Thrones" team used to reveal some new actors and actresses to be introduced in the upcoming seasons for the past few years.
According to WinterIsComing.net, the GoT panel did not say a single word about the casting, and not a single new actor or actress was introduced.
The report said that there was not a single word about the season 6 cast, much to the dismay of fans who were hoping that the GoT panel would "deliver the goods."
The website further speculates that one of the possible reasons for this is because Comic-Con was held earlier in 2015 compared to the past years.
On the other hand, Business Insider was able to get word from HBO about a casting call which is currently being circulated on professional performance arts pages on Tuesday. The call said that the show is looking for ladies and gentlemen between the ages 25 and 40 who are available to work from July 19 to July 22, 2015.
Though the casting call revealed that the only roles available are for background characters and a few unnamed "recurring and starring" characters, news about this is better than nothing.
Meanwhile, here is a fan-made video compiling the predictions on what's going to happen during the show's upcoming new season.
