If you thought that season 1 of the political thriller series "House of Cards" was riveting, then wait until you get a peak of what's to come in season 2!

Early Friday morning, Neflix dropped a two-minute promo for the upcoming second season, which hints that the road to absolute power in Washington, D.C. is paved with hypocrisy and casualties.

Netflix released the season two trailer via Twitter with a tweet that read "And the butchery begins."

All 13 episodes will debut on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, which means that many fans may skip going out for dinner and a movie on Valentine's Day in order to catch the season premiere.

According to TV Line, a summary for the highly acclaimed drama series reads:

"Francis (Kevin Spacey) and Claire (Robin Wright) Underwood continue their ruthless rise to power as threats mount on all fronts. Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara), an up-and-coming reporter and Francis's former paramour, is inching closer to the truth about his crimes. President Walker's (Michel Gill) billionaire confidante Raymond Tusk (Gerald McRaney) demands that Francis reciprocate political favors or face retribution. And Claire must confront the increasing glare of the spotlight as it eats away at her and Francis's once private existence. The Underwoods must overcome these dangers - past and present - to avoid losing everything, regardless of collateral damage they leave in their wake."

Besides, Spacey, Wright, Mara, Gill and McRaney, TV Line also revealed that other returning characters include Mahershala Ali (playing Remy), Sebastian Arcelus (as Herald boss Lucas), Kristen Connolly (Christina), Nathan Darrow (Frank's bodyguard Edward), Sakina Jaffrey (White House Chief of Staff Linda Vasquez), Michael Kelly (Frank's own CoS, Doug Stamper), Constance Zimmer (Janine) and Rachel Brosnahan (ex-prostitute Rachel).

There will also be new actors added to the cast including "Mad Men" star Sam Page, "Deadwood's" Molly Parker and Joanna Going from "Close to Home."
