Tim Miller's movie version of Marvel's "Deadpool" starring Ryan Reynolds finally gets a release date and even wows the San Diego Comic-Con attendees with its R-rated trailer.
After 11 years of development, the Marvel superhero has finally been scheduled to be shown in theaters on February 12, 2016, with the titular role still attached to "Green Lantern" actor Ryan Reynolds, The Daily Beast reported.
The character's origins were revealed through "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" showing Wade Wilson, Deadpool's secret identity, fighting with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.
In the 2009 film, Wilson was shown as a Special Forces operative who, like the Wolverine, underwent experimentation which granted him the ability to heal instantaneously.
Before proceeding with the San Diego Comic-Con panel interview at Hall H on Saturday, Reynolds was introduced by a clip showing an R-rated video greeting from "Deadpool."
The Hollywood Reporter noted how the 38-year-old actor criticized Fox for incorporating his character with his mouth sewn shut, leaving no room for the film to showcase the character, as Huffington Post described, a "foul-mouthed, sarcastic funnyman" of the Marvel Universe.
MTV quoted Reynolds, in character, describing how "the studio that inexplicably sewed his f-king mouth shut the first time" in order to teach Marvel fans how to "take these broken wings and learn to f-king fly again."
And because it caught the audience's attention so much, fans attending the event had even cleverly recorded and posted it over YouTube.

Reynolds further explained to MTV how the film had finally received a "date of birth" after "some A-hole leaked that footage" about a year ago.
MTV described the panel to be a lively, comedy-filled one, further speculating that this is a sign on how the film would turn out.
"I think this character inhabits a space in the comic universe that no character can or will ever inhabit," Reynolds told the Comic-Con panel, adding that he believes it was a 'miracle' that they were allowed to make a film out of Deadpool, let alone a rated-R one.
Joining Reynolds in the Comic-Con stage is his co-stars T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, Gina Carano, Ed Skrein, and Morena Baccarin who proudly described her character as "a badass romantic lead" who is perfect for Deadpool's 'crassness.'
Meanwhile, Reynolds took to Twitter to reveal that while it is not possible that the Comic-Con footage be released officially, fans would soon see something amazing, saying: "As much as I want the #deadpool footage from #SDCC officially released, the VFX shots aren't done yet. We have something for you in 3 weeks."
