Speculations about Taylor Swift being added to the expanding roster of mutants have emerged after "X-Men: Apocalypse" writer and producer Simon Kinberg Tweeted a photo of the singer with some prominent members of the team.

In the Twitter post, Kinberg used "Haters gonna hate," the lyrics one of Swift's most famous songs to describe the photo showing a seemingly accidental get-together on July 8.

The "Apocalypse" stars in the photograph include Sophie Turner, a young actress popularly known for her role as "Sansa Stark" in the hit TV series "Game of Thrones" and would play Jean Grey in the upcoming X-Men flick; and a now-bald James McAvoy who would continue portraying as Professor Charles Xavier.

Hollywood Life reported on how the post hinted at the possibility that the 25-year-old singstress would be 'showing off her fighting skills' in a larger screen following the release of the action-packed music video for her song "Bad Blood."

"Taylor Swift showed off her fighting skills in the music video for 'Bad Blood,' and now she may be showing off those moves on the big screen," the report speculated.

Fans of the singer also fond of the Marvel comic book superheroes X-Men are hoping that she would be cast as the "Dazzler" in the upcoming installment of the X-Men, due in theaters on May 27, 2016.

"I would totally be down for Taylor Swift playing Dazzler in an upcoming X-Men movie. Just putting that out there," Twitter user Matt (@smylie) wrote.

Cody Lunsford (@codylunsford_), on the other hand, used simple logic to prove how Swift is best for the role, saying in all capital letters: "Dazzler is a mutant who is a pop star. Taylor swift is a pop star. It's so @#$%ing simple."

While there is still no word either from Swift's camp or the production team of "Apocalypse" regarding this, fans continue to hope that this are not mere rumors.

If confirmed, starring in "Apocalypse" would not be the first time the country singer shows her acting prowess. She has already made appearances in films like the 2010 star-studded rom-com flick "Valentine's Day" and Meryl Streep's 2014 movie "The Giver."

And, aside from making an appearance in the film, fans of MTV's Woman of the Year are also hoping for some great soundtracks for the flick from her.

As of the most recent post from Call Time on May 7, casting calls for the film include Jennifer Lawrence, Channing Tatum, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Hugh Jackman, Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Olivia Munn, Sophie Turner, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, Tye Sheridan and Oscar Isaac.
