Verizon Wireless has approved a new stability update over the air for Samsung Galaxy S4s on its network just a few weeks after becoming the first U.S. carrier to roll out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
The update is a relatively minor one compared to the large Android 4.3 Jelly Bean patch, and mostly fixes a few bugs. Verizon Galaxy S4 owners should soon start seeing download notifications for build VRUEMK2 and as usual, you'll want to have your device charged and tethered to a Wi-Fi connection.
According to Verizon, the patch contains improvements to e-mail connectivity and data connections to enterprise servers along with more consistent data roaming in Canada and Mexico. The support docs also indicate that the phone should work better with non-Samsung chargers, a problem that hasn't been widely reported but apparently needed fixing.
Sprint also recently released a stability update for Galaxy S4s on its network that fixed a problem with sleep mode, leading to better battery life. No such updates have been pushed out for AT&T, T-Mobile, or U.S. Cellular variants.
