Photos of the Galaxy Note 5 have recently been leaked, and it looks a lot like the Galaxy 6 Edge.

However, Gizmodo points out that Samsung's Galaxy S and Galaxy Note phones have always been similar in design and software, and if the trend continues, the leaked photos of the Note 5 could indicate what can be expected from the company in September.

The latest edition of the Galaxy Note is expected to debut at the IFA in Berlin come fall.

The website said that the Note 5 on the photos posted by @onleaks has a similar design to the Galaxy S6 Edge, but with a rounded instead of sloping curve display. There is no indication of a removable back save for the microSIM card slot, which makes sense, considering that the company has ditched the removable battery design earlier in the year.

Samsung's competitor, Apple Inc, is also expected to launch its own phone in September, with the iPhone 6S launch expected for September.

Unlike Samsung, which has tried to improve the features for the Galaxy Note 5, Mac Rumors said that the iPhone 6S is rumored to have the worst features seen in the iPhone 6.

While the iPhone 6 was equipped with 64GB and 128GB storage options, Forbes reported that the upcoming 6S is expected to have a Toshiba Flash Memory chip, which is known to support only 16GB of capacity.

It has also been reported that the core iOS installation has been reduced in size to help promote the use of Apple's iCloud and Apple Music apps. Chinatopix points out that Apple devices don't usually have memory expansion slots which makes it difficult for users to settle with just a 16GB file storage space.

Leaked photos of the iPhone 6S from 9to5 Mac also revealed that the phone will feature the Qualcomm MDM9635M chip capable of download speeds of up to 300Mbps, more than twice the download speed of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus.

As for which phone looks better, it's up to users. However, both companies are rumored to release their respective smartphones in September, with the iPhone 6S expected to be worth around $649 to $659. No price rumors are attached to Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 at the moment.

Which smartphone will you be checking out come September --- Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 or Apple's iPhone 6S?
